Watering Systems.
History and Development

Have you ever thought it strange, that almost everything we talk about here in Productwise dates back to early mankind? But not really when you consider that food (and the tools for getting it) and having water for drinking and irrigation, form two of the three essentials of life itself.

For many centuries, water was distributed using lead water pipes due to its malleability (soft and easily bent without heating it). Its use was so common that the word "plumbing" derives from the Latin word for lead - Plumbum.

Obviously lead piping was fairly rigid and permanent, but with the development of rubber and more recently polymers (plastics), flexible pipes were introduced that opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

Amongst the earliest examples of flexible hose pipe can be found on fire-fighting equipment, however, having a pipe that can direct water to exactly where you want it, when you want it, has an attraction for everyone. It is in fact something we all take for granted now.

Be it in domestic, industrial or construction situations, the hose pipe is an integral part of modern life, but can it be made even more flexible? (sorry).

Well, yes. Being able to quickly connect and disconnect hose pipe and the fittings that are used with it, is a distinct advantage. This is where the C.K watering systems excels in providing the very best in tough, long lasting water management systems.

So let’s take a look at the C.K range now.

The C.K watering system range comprises of three elements – Hose pipes, Hose connectors and Hose accessories.

We’ll take these one by one...
