Hammers.
History and Development
The use of simple hammers dates back to about 2,400 B.C when various shaped stones were used to strike wood, bone or other stones to break them apart and shape them. Stones attached to sticks with strips of leather or animal sinew were being used as hammers by about 30,000 B.C during the middle Stone Age.
Evolving through the bronze ages with the development of Bronze, Iron and Steel, the hammer is an essential tool for many professions, and is perhaps the oldest tool, possibly even pre-dating humankind.
